Behaviour Stories

Stories have long been used for teaching morals and developing character.
Behavior Stories are developed from Social Stories and Success Stories. The stories focus on topics that are often difficult tasks and social situations for children. The stories break down a task or social situation into smaller steps.
Often children benefit from visual reminders of what to do next. Discussions on the children’s feelings, actions, and choices are a way to develop good decision making.
With technological improvements, videos, eBooks, video games and hand-held devices become common delivery methods for teaching these skills. For example, if a child is having trouble in building the habit of brushing their teeth before breakfast, his parent can refer to the “Getting Ready for School” story to reinforce that brushing their teeth is the first activity in their morning routine. This becomes a fun and meaningful way to learn.
